  • We had four blinds installed, 2 outside mount, 1 inside mount, and 1 skylight. All motorized as they are not within reach which definitely added to the price. The 2 outside and inside were scheduled to be installed on one day, and the skylight was going to be done on a separate day. The two outside mount are acceptable and we are living with them. We have an issue with how the installer Max mounted them as the top of the blind clips the corner of the triangular architectural windows. We both stayed home from work that day and told Max to ask us if he had ANY questions during the process. He did not ask about that. After the install we told him we would like them mounted higher, and he advised us that he had used a huge metal anchor and it would be difficult to move. We were unhappy about this, but my husband is relatively handy and we figured he could just move it later. The 3rd was an inside mount. Quite frankly, on the first install, it looked terrible. My husband talked to Max about it and make some suggestions as to how to fix it. Max actually called the owner Jimmy, and Jimmy advised us to call our designer Connie. We called Connie and she told us to talk to the installer Jimmy. We should have known we were in trouble. Jimmy and Max had to return to install the skylight blind, and Jimmy fixed the inside mount in the manner my husband had suggested, and it looked marginally better than the first install but still not acceptable. In further speaking with Connie the designer about the gap, she advised that there is a gap allowance and it was stated on the invoice that I signed. In that part she was correct. The allowance is 1/8 inch to ¼ inch., however the gap WELL EXCEEDS the stated tolerance on the invoice. The gap measures .511”, which is more than double the allowance. There is apparently no communication between the designer and the installer who measures prior to the order being placed. If we knew this up front we would have changed to an outside mount. Our architectural window is not completely square, as the house settled. We have gone back and forth with the designer via email and have not been able to reach resolution on this problem. We have sent photos of the gap, including photos of the measurements of the gap as identified. The last email correspondence included a quote for an outside mount (which would fix the inside mount gap issue). I requested that quote as I was hopeful they would try and fix their problem with a price incentive. Upon receipt of quote, we received the same standard 30% discount that we received on the first order. We were advised that 3 Day Blinds was not taking any liability for this issue. There was also no additional incentives (ie, waiving installation/shipping/etc). At this point we gave up trying to communicate with Connie as she clearly had no incentive to try and resolve our issue. 3 Day Blinds will not take Liability. It is very disappointing as we spent a significant amount of money on their product. I am considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
