3 Day Blinds Motorized FAQs - Mobile App / General

The 3 Day Blinds app is a smart home application designed to program, control, and manage motorized window treatments seamlessly. With the 3 Day Blinds app, easily operate one shade or a whole group of shades with a simple tap. Want to manage the light and privacy in your home, hands-free? Schedule timers so your shades move automatically throughout the day, bringing effortless convenience to your everyday routine. Designed for modern homeowners, our app pairs perfectly with motorized shades from 3 Day Blinds to transform ordinary spaces into functional masterpieces.

App features include:

Seamless setup and configuration of shades and accessories.

Create scenes to conveniently move your shades to specific positions with a single tap.

Program your scenes to activate automatically at different times of day using timers.

Timers can be scheduled for a specific time or based on your local sunrise or sunset.

Add a bridge to manage your home while you’re away, and to integrate with voice control assistants.

Yes! The 3 Day Blinds app comes standard with every motorized window treatment. The app allows your smartphone to communicate directly with your shades using Bluetooth Low Energy technology. Upgrade to the bridge to unlock smart home integration via Matter, and connect to your favorite smart devices including Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home. The bridge also enables remote access, so you can control your shades from anywhere in the world.

Yes! The app is required for setup of your motorized products, but the remote is optional.

The 3 Day Blinds app is available for iOS and Android smart devices (iOS 15.6 or greater, Android 7.0 or greater). For the most up to date device requirements, refer to the notes in the Apple App Store or Google Play store.

The range for app operation without a bridge will vary depending on the following factors:

Environmental factors like closed doors, metal railings, brick, appliances, heated floors, etc

The User’s smartphone’s Bluetooth range. The Bluetooth radios in the remotes are stronger than the average smartphone, so in systems without a bridge, you may notice that app range is not as far as that of the remote

The shade’s top treatment, or if it is installed in a pocket, could also affect range.

Add a bridge, or multiple bridges if necessary, to improve range, reduce latency, and ensure whole home control in the app. Please note that the bridge does not affect remote range or operation. Choose either the remote or the app to operate your shades at any given time. Each shade's Bluetooth radio can only connect to the app or the remote at a single time. This means that if you are holding the remote, as soon as the remote wakes up it will automatically attempt to connect to the shades. This connection would override any attempted commands from the app happening at the same time

The 3 Day Blinds app is free and can be found on the Apple App Store and the Google Play store.

3 Day Blinds Motorized FAQs - Mobile App / Hub

The bridge is an optional piece of hardware used to provide additional features and benefits, as listed below:

Integrates your smart shades with the popular home automation systems, enabling voice control and other smart home features.

Allows the app to connect to your shades remotely, from anywhere in the world. Reduces latency for app control in larger homes.

Extends ranges for app control in larger homes.

Drives precise hembar alignment for more than four shades of the same type in a single room.

Provides the best whole home control when shades are in multiple rooms.

Ensures your Timers always stay on time and in sync, by regularly updating shade clocks.

Add a bridge if you want to integrate with smart home automation systems or access shades remotely, and for larger homes. If you are ordering 5 or more shades, we'd recommend adding a bridge for optimal performance and whole home control.

Yes.  The 3 Day Blinds hub requires a 2.4 or 5 Ghz Wi-Fi network.

Yes, if you add a bridge. You can adjust your Motorized products from anywhere using the 3 Day Blinds app, as long as your 3 Day Blinds bridge is connected to your home’s network.

Each bridge typically has a range of about 40-50 feet. Actual range may vary depending on factors such as construction materials (e.g. concrete or brick), elevators, heated flooring, and other structural elements. Typically, one bridge can cover a home that is 2,000 square feet or smaller, with 15 or less shades.

We recommend ordering one bridge for a home ~2,000 square feet or smaller, with 15 or less shades. The bridge should be placed in a location central to the shades. Please note additional considerations below.

Each bridge can connect to a max of 15 shades within range. Add additional bridges as needed.

In larger homes, homes with shades spread across wider spaces in the home, or when environmental factors interfere with RF signal (concrete, brick, elevators, heated flooring, aquariums), more than one bridge will be required to cover the entire home.

For homes with multiple floors, order 1 bridge per floor.

3 Day Blinds Motorized FAQs - Product Questions

We offer motorization on a variety of products. We currently offer motorization on Honeycomb Shades, Roller Shades, Soft Roman Shades, Roman Shades, Horizontal Sheer Shades, Simply Sheer Shades, Woven Wood Shades, Wood Blinds, Faux Wood Blinds, and Drapery.

Yes, you can. You can group all different types of shades together in the app using Scenes, and customize the desired position. In the app you can also group up to 5 shades in a room together and control them using the virtual in-app remote. Simply navigate to the desired room and select the remote icon on the bottom right corner. You can group up to 10 products together on the remote, as long as the products are close enough together and in range of the remote. For remote programming, we recommend only grouping products together on the same channel that have similar operational commands. For example, a Honeycomb Top-Down Bottom-Up has different remote functions than a regular Bottom-Up shade or a Horizontal Sheer, so keep in mind that operation may vary in those types of cases.

The shade’s internal battery or external battery may arrive partially charged, if shipped via air. So, products should be charged after installation. After that, shades or external rechargeable batteries should be charged about every 6 months. You can check battery status in the app, after your shades are set up. To view battery level navigate to “Shade settings” (“Rooms”>“Shades”> Select the desired shade > Shade settings). The LED on the shade itself will also warn you of low battery status. If the LED on the shade blinks red 4 times after sending a command, make sure to charge your shade’s battery.

Legacy 3 Day Blinds Motorized FAQs - Remote Control Device

These state of the art remote controls feature a sleek designer profile and can be hand-held or wall mounted. Our remote is small and compact and operates via a wireless radio signal. Once paired with your Motorized Shades the remote is a convenient way to operate a single shade, or an entire room!

The remote control offers 15 channels for you to mix and match the way you control your window treatment. This means that you could set each channel to individually control one shade at a time, or group your treatments on one channel to control them all at the same time.

There is no limit to how many Shades you can group to one channel.

Radio frequency operation offers a range of approximately 65 ft. This extended range means the remote control does not have to be pointed directly at the shade to operate. Keep in mind that concrete walls and other signal interference may reduce radio frequency range.

Standard Lift remotes have 5 buttons for operation. The up and down buttons are used to move the window treatment up and down to your desired height. The middle dash or minus button (-) is used to set your shade to your favorite position. The left and right arrows allow you to change between the different channels. Top Down Bottom Up remotes have 8 buttons and the key difference is you have one more set of up and down buttons. The second set of buttons is programmed to raise and lower the headrail instead of the bottom rail. All of the other buttons function the same as our standard lift remotes.

Of course! Your Shades can be reprogrammed to your liking. Follow the steps in the setting a favorite position portion of the initial setup video.

Your remote needs a CR2450 3V lithium battery.

The first thing to check is the battery on the remote and the battery on the shade. To test the battery on the remote, press any button and if the display doesn't display the channel try replacing the battery. If your remote is operational check other channels on the remote to ensure other Shades are still connected. If you are able to operate other Shades, try charging the non operational shade. If after a charge the remote is still not operating the shade try to go through the remote pairing process again. If you are still experiencing an issue, please give us a call at (800) 800-3329.

Legacy 3 Day Blinds Motorized FAQs - Mobile App / Hub

The 3 Day Blinds Hub allows you to use the 3 Day Blinds Motorized App. The hub connects to a Wi-Fi router and communicates with 3 Day Blinds motorized window treatments. It allows control of your Shades from anywhere in the world. Please note, a 2.4 GHz network is required.

Yes.  The 3 Day Blinds hub requires a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network.

Most modern routers are dual band and operate at both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. The best way to ensure that your home network is compatible is to call your internet provider and ask them to identify your 2.4Ghz frequency or make that frequency visible from your router settings. This is a very common request to internet providers and should be able to be resolved fairly quickly. You can also watch this video to learn more about the 2.4Ghz band.

Virtually all WiFi routers have both 5GHz and 2.4 GHz frequency. The 2.4 Ghz frequency offers a wide coverage area and is better at penetrating solid objects such as walls, therefore, the 3 Day Blinds Hub can only be set up with the 2.4 Ghz frequency with a reliable and steady connection.

Yes. You can adjust your Motorized Shades and Drapery hardware from anywhere using the 3 Day Blinds Motorized App as long as your 3 Day Blinds Hub is connected to your home’s internet network.

Each hub has a range of up to 98 feet, however, optimal coverage is within 65 feet.

We recommend using 2 hubs for uninterrupted coverage for an average sized, single story 4 bedroom house. If you have a second story in your home we recommend a hub for that story as well.
